Oppenheimer will mark Christopher Nolan's return to the big screen on July 31st, 2023; almost exactly seventy eight years after the world's first nuclear explosion in 1945. Five time Oscar winner Christopher Nolan has joined forces with cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema (Tenet) once again to deliver a visually stunning film based on the book American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer, retelling the story of the American theoretical physicist, played by Cillian Murphy, and his work in the Manhattan Project.

J. Robert Oppenheimer worked as head and director of the Los Alamos Laboratory from 1943 until 1945, after doing research on fast neurons and hypothesizing that in the right quantities, this reaction could be used to create an explosion and depending on its efficiency, could then be militarized. Oppenheimer’s associations with the communist party made way for distrust and doubts on where his loyalty stood, though the American government knew the importance of having someone like Oppenheimer on their side of the war.

Oppenheimer will be Christopher Nolan's twelfth feature film, and features a star studded cast including the talents of: Cillian Murphy, Florence Pugh, Robert Downey Jr, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Jack Quaid and Rami Malek. The visionary director behind movies like The Dark Knight Rises and Inception has acted as a trailblazer in the development of IMAX movies; recently going on to design a new IMAX Film camera along with one of today's most prodigious directors, Jordan Peele, among other big names in the film industry. This new camera will be available in 2023, and can be experienced in Jordan Peele’s latest film, Nope, as well as Nolan’s Oppenheimer. Christopher Nolan has been at the forefront of progress on every one of his works; always pushing boundaries in one way or another. This movie is bound to be a spectacular treat for film buffs and fanatics of good cinema with a scheduled release of July 31st, 2023.
